1964 Dodge 440

All,  I have a 64 Dodge 440 with a 318 engine in it and has 53k original miles.  Everything is original and has been garaged kept for the last 52 years.  It has factory air that doesn't work.  I am looking to either get it repaired or have an aftermarket put in like the people do at Old air products.   I am new to classic cars so I am not sure if I should get it refurbished or just get a new system.  Any thoughts would be appreciated as I don't know what to do in this case.

Re: 1964 Dodge 440

I would just get the original system checked to see what repairs are necessary before going to an aftermarket replacement. It may be something as simple as a compressor seal and a recharge. Is all of the original system still there and hooked up?

Thanks for the response.  All of the AC is still there but no heat.  It is missing a pully so the compressor doesn't run.   I will get it checked if possible before the aftermarket add on.
