We had a good turnout Saturday afternoon for our Annual Chili Cookoff.  We had eight different Chili's, some had some pretty good "bite", they were all tasty and excellent !! Mark Buchanan conducted the November Cowtown Mopars club meeting, we had one guest.  Over 30 in attendance.  We gave away some door prizes and had a drawing for 50/50 as well.

Thanks again to all that came, we enjoyed the fellowship and look forward to doing it again next year.

October has been really slow at Texas Trailer Man.  We need some business.  If you need your trailer repaired, serviced, washed & cleaned, call us.  If you need some welding done, Aaron and Jason are experienced mig welders - we can even do some aluminum welding.  Aaron is also doing some tig welding on steel.

For the month of October and the month of November we will give club members, their families and even their friends a 15% discount on trailer hitches, their installation and wiring.  Plus a 25% discount on axle bearing service - repacking bearings installing new seals, checking and cleaning brakes.  Just mention that you are a Cowtown Mopars club member, family or friend when you call us or come by.

We thank you for supporting us here at Texas Trailer Man

Thank you Brandon for your help yesterday and last Sunday as well.  All of you guys from Cowtown Mopars are the best.  Everyone pitches in when there is a need and it is so much appreciated.  I'm hoping we will be able to get the car fixed for next Sunday - even though there may not be a chance now for me to get the points lead back.  I will at least be there with the big Red "Beast" to earn some more points.

Sorry to hear about you Dad, we are praying for healing and full recovery for him.

A couple of my friends told me to be sure and check the sprague in the transmission to make sure it wasn't damaged when the 8.75 rear end expired.  So, I minded them and checked it out - no indication that the sprague was hurt - however, after further checking discovered that the transmission wouldn't engage in forward gears, only reverse.  So, we pulled the transmission out, took it to Miller Performance, where Mike Miller and David Tidmore did some surgery on it and found that it had a broken Front Planetary gear set.  Actually the main shaft splines in the Front Planetary gear set were stripped out. They fixed me up again, 2nd time in two days now.

So, again I thank Mr. Mike Miller and Mr. David Tidmore for their emergency attention to my rear end and my transmission, you guys are much appreciated.

Last Sunday at Northstar Dragway  the ring & pinion gave up in my 74 Dart Sport - that was after 15 years
of abuse.  So, I am proud to say that it served me well.  I want to thank Jim Mccutheon and Mark Buchanan for
coming to my rescue at the track and towing me back to the pits.  Thanks to Mike Sonnamaker and Brandon Hamilton
for helping me out in the pits to determine exactly what had broken - you were all a great help.

I was leading the TMCCC points in Electronics going into last Sundays race, and I certainly wanted to opportunity to
make a run for the championship.  So, I needed to be able to race at Redline Raceway this Sunday to enable me
to even have a chance at that championship. I had been thinking about and wanting to change my rear gear ratio for
couple of years now.  I wanted to go to a 4.30 gear in liew of the 4.56 that was in the car.  Needed to run some more mile
per hour.  Thankfully, Paul Peyton had the 4.30 gears and the parts in stock for my 742 third member.  Frank Bonczek
offered to set the rear end up for me, but his schedule was a little tight - pretty much up to Saturday, and I really wanted
the opportunity to take the car out before Saturday and make a couple of passes to make sure everything was working
without a hitch.

Anyway, My friends at Miller Performance - Mike Miller and David Tidmore were kind enough to take my 742 Third member
install the new gears and set up it up for me.  They did a great job and we have the car back together and ready to take
it to the track for testing.

I am proud to represent Cowtown Mopars in the TMCCC series, and very proud to be your only racer in the Electronics category.

Thanks to everyone,

To our racing family:

It is with deep sadness and regret that we have to let each of you know that our time with North Star Dragway is coming to an end. The past five years that we have been associated with NSD has been some of the happiest of our lives, and that happiness would not have been possible without each and everyone of you that supported us. Despite rising gas prices, a difficult economy, and a longer drive, we could always count on seeing our friends driving into the gate.

As you know, in 2010, we took over as the operators of the track. Things weren't always easy, and we had to make some choices on what improvements we could make and programs that we could offer. Even though we couldn't always afford to do the things we wanted to do, we always put the racers first and did whatever we could do to make your experience at our track the best that is could be.

Since our lease was abruptly and unexpectedly terminated in early July, we have continued to work with the new owners to provide a quality racing experience at the track. While things behind the scenes may have been changing, we did our absolute best to make sure that things for the racers continued as they always have. We understand that this is a hobby for you, and an expensive one, and we pride ourselves on providing the best experience possible.

Unfortunately, over the last few weeks, circumstances have arisen that have forced us to make a decision regarding our future at NSD. And with that being said, this upcoming Saturday, September 8th, will be the final day at North Star Dragway for Larry and I. This decision was extremely difficult for our family, and not one that was reached without extensive discussion. We just feel that this is the best decision for our family's happiness and will allow us to continue to provide for our families.

And, please, don't think you are going to get rid of us that easily. We will pop up somewhere and plan to continue to do what we love to do in drag rac

As all of you know, when the Mopars at the Motorplex event was founded by a group from Dallas Mopar club and Cowtown Mopar club - the ultimate goal was to bring an annual MOPAR event featuring drag racing, car show and swap meet to the North Texas Region.  Mark Buckanan, Mike Miller, Ron Dillinger, Robert Vaughan, Marty Robertson, Bill Boon and many, many others were responsible for putting this program together and growing it to the level it was last year.  In order to grow the event to a greater level, we needed to have more sponsorship, more advertising and more attendance to do so.

As a result we have aligned ourselves with the Texas Motorplex and Mopar Action Magazine to take this event to a national event level, and the efforts of that are explained in the following announcement of this alliance.

Jan. 12, 2012 – Texas Motorplex will officially launch the inaugural event in the Mega Mopar Action Series on Saturday, May 19.  The new series, operated by the same group of national event tracks that manage the Super can't spell that Show and Fun For old retired doctors Weekend series events, will feature the popular format of drag racing, car show, and swap meet attractions for fans of Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth vehicles.

The series will host four events during the 2012 season beginning in Dallas, then moving to Denver at Bandimere Speedway (Sunday, June 3), followed by a stop one week later at Maple Grove Raceway just outside Reading, PA (Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10), and completing the 2012 tour at Virginia Motorsports Park in late September (Saturday and Sunday, September 22-23).

The series is planned to double or triple the number of events in 2013, potentially equaling the number of Super can't spell that Shows and Fun For old retired doctors Weekend events, each currently hosting a 12-event national tour.

The popular Mopar Action magazine plays a role in the series, by providing its readers insight to upcoming attractions at the events, as well as providing post-event results for the drag racing and car
